1. What is The Song?

The Song is a feature film and mini-series based off the life and works of King Solomon. The story follows a young aspiring singer-songwriter whose marriage and life suffer when the song he writes for his wife propels him into stardom.

 

2. Where is The Song shooting?

The Song is tentatively scheduled to shoot in Louisville, KY (where the City on a Hill production offices are located) although the possibility exists to film in another location in the United States based on tax incentives.

 

3. When is The Song shooting?

The Song will begin principal photography in May 2012. It is scheduled to be an 8 week shoot.

 

4. What are actor rates?

Our actor rates vary, and are typically negotiated at the time of casting. This will depend on actor union affiliation and role. These are competitive industry rates. We do pay agency fees.

 

5. Is The Song SAG?

City on a Hill is still in negotiations to determine if The Song will be a SAG affiliated or Non-Union film. We would encourage you to give all of your actors a chance to audition. This decision could be dictated by the actors we find that best fit the lead roles.

 

6. Will we cast all roles off audition videos?

City on a Hill does initial casting through video submission. Call backs are in person, or when that is not possible, by live video conference. For the lead roles, an in-person audition will be necessary.

 

7. How should you submit auditions and to whose attention?

Please submit all audition materials via email to Casting@cityonahillproductions.com with the Subject: Audition_Character Name_Your Name (Ex. Audition_Shelby_Jane Smith).

 

8. What does the audition require? How do I submit an audition?

Please submit your headshot, resume, and one audition video per role in which you are auditioning (using the provided sides). Title audition videos CharacterSideName_YourName (ex. Shelby_JaneSmith) Please do not submit additional materials. Please submit video files in .mov format. Send all submissions to Casting@cityonahillproductions.com no later than January 30, 2012.

9. Should I submit additional materials?

No.

 

10. May I audition for multiple characters?

Yes. Please submit a separate audition video and file for each role in which you audition.

 

11.Where can I find character sides?

There are character sides attached. If there is a case where you cannot retrieve sides, please email casting@cityonahillproductions.com with the Subject: SIDES REQUEST.

 

12. Is there travel reimbursement?

Yes. Travel and accommodations are provided.

 

13. Will talent get credit and a copy of completed film?

Talent will receive credit in the Feature Film, and will receive a copy of the project at the time of completion.

 

14.Intended use?

These materials are intended for theatrical, broadcast, and home video distribution.
